The venue

The main hall is 12m x 13m, surrounded on three sides by a Gallery.

The Gallery, with it's 300 year old box pews, is sadly not open to the public.

The hall is licensed for the sale of alcohol and for regulated entertainment.

Flexible layout
Arrange the hall as you wish, using our high quality oak chairs for lecture-style seating, our trestle tables for seated meals or workshops.

Or just leave the space clear, perhaps for a standing buffet.

Capacities range from 120 people all standing to 80 people when tables are used - these numbers include all performers, catering staff etc as well as guests or audience.

The venue is accessible to wheelchair users, and to those who cannot climb steps, via the side doors. There is an accessible toilet.
A loop system is available for those using hearing aids.
Also available are:

  • A small kitchen, accessible from both the hall and outside, with a cooker, a water heater for coffee and tea-making, and a small fridge.

  • Cutlery and crockery for up to 36 people.(fee applies)

There is limited metered on-street parking in Churchgate Street and surrounding residential streets and the town's main car parks are only a few minutes' walk away.
